The making of Hyvä Commerce
On 31 October 2024, we made an exciting, yet scary announcement. Through our strategic partnership with Mollie, we promised the Magento Community what they were longing for: a roadmap and promotion of the Magento brand.
The gap we are filling is the huge market of SMBs and mid-market merchants generating €1M to €100M GMV and growing rapidly, whether they are B2C, B2B or DTC.
Exciting for Magento, scary for our team who set high expectations and committed to delivering the Hyvä way: with speed, quality, sustainability and reliability.
- Within a month, we had consulted our power users and came up with a roadmap highlighting which features should be built, and in what priority.
- Within two months, we recruited 50% more developers to make it happen
- Within four months, we started running demos at Hyvä developer Paradise on a tropical island
- Within six months, we launched early access, got valuable feedback from our closest partners
Today, thanks to our team’s legendary focus combined with the power of our ecosystem, we are in a position to go GA with our product!

What’s not included in Hyvä Commerce: Hyvä Enterprise
Hyvä Enterprise is our product supporting Adobe Commerce features, including:

- Live Search and Product Recommendations (Sensei)
- Adobe Experience Platform support via Data Connection
- Content Staging, Customer Segmentation, Gift cards, Loyalty Points etc…
Hyvä Enterprise comes with Hyvä Edge, should you want to use Adobe Edge Delivery Services, to connect to your Adobe Experience Manager stack.
To clear things out, Hyvä Commerce is not just for Magento Open Source, nor does it replace Adobe Commerce!

During a hackathon, we developed our own CMS element for the new Hyvä Commerce CMS: a shoppable image that allows product hotspots to be placed directly in the image – including a tooltip function and responsive mobile image.
Particularly exciting: I have already built a similar feature with the PageBuilder before – and at that time it took weeks. This time we had in just one day. And what can I say – it worked!”
Hyvä Commerce pricing
Our vision is to build that one product suite packed with all the good stuff that will drop at a regular pace. Our pricing reflects this model, with a yearly subscription of €3,000. It’s a simple fixed price per installation, regardless of your GMV, number of domains/storefronts, or website traffic (or seats, as we got asked recently).

Question: Are you still going to offer Hyvä Theme and Hyvä Checkout as standalone products?
Answer: YES! We are committed to giving you the choice and possibility to buy each license separately, and grow at your own pace. Read more here.
Question: What happens if I don’t renew my subscription?
Answer: You can keep the version you had access to on the last day of your subscription, but you won’t benefit from the new features dropping after that date.
Question: Is Hyvä Commerce a Saas product?
Answer: No. Hyvä Commerce comes on top of Magento Open Source (or Adobe Commerce) so that you can still enjoy the benefits of:
- Owning and controlling your store
- Owning your data
- Minimising and controlling your ongoing costs (maintenance, hosting)
- Being able to differentiate from competitors through look and feel, design or innovative functionalities
- Privacy and Security
