Product Update: AI Translations, Hyvä Commerce 1.2, and what's next
We're just three months into 2026, but it’s fair to say we’ve already shipped a lot over the past quarter across all of our product offerings. As always, our focus is the same: reduce complexity, make the Magento frontend better to work with, and give merchants tools that actually solve real-world problems.
- We’ve had GA releases of our most sought-after features for Hyvä Commerce, including Admin Dashboard and Media Optimisation, meaning we’ve now delivered our initial roadmap items, and more!
- We’ve also had some firsts, such as our initial AI-powered feature, automatic translations for Hyvä CMS, along with a framework and providers for future AI-powered functionality.
- On the topic of AI, things are moving fast, we’ve spent time looking at how best we use the new tools to help you build faster (without compromising on quality) and to add value for merchants as well.
As we move into Q2, we’ll share more of what we’re planning next via our roadmap and at events, but we already have some great features lined up, including our much anticipated Menu Builder, Linked Products, Category Merchandiser, and more, along with a renewed focus on feature development for Hyvä Checkout.
If you want get hands on with our current and upcoming products, make sure to join us for Hyvä Developers Paradise in Marbella in April 16th, where you’ve have (almost) unlimited access to our team, along with hands-on sessions for developers.
Hyvä Commerce 1.2: the admin panel, rethought
When we launched Hyvä Commerce in July 2025, we knew the work was just beginning. Version 1.2 is the clearest signal yet of where we're headed: a Magento admin experience that provides useful and tailored data and tools for merchants. In addition, we’ve been quietly making under-the-hood improvements to storefront performance.
Admin Dashboard: relevant data, for the right people
When we shipped our Admin Theme last year — a fresh, modern look for the Magento backend, built on the Mage-OS theme — it made working in the admin feel less like 2012. However, this visual update was just the start of a much bigger picture.
Not everyone in a business needs to see the same things. Our new Admin Dashboard replaces the default Magento dashboard with a user-focused experience — users can configure widgets to surface the data that actually matters to them, including CrUX performance metrics alongside sales data, and content from multiple storefronts side by side.
Managing multiple stores, and for dedicated marketing, operations, or finance teams, this means less noise and faster decisions.

Media Optimisation: stop worrying about images
Image performance is one of the most consistent pain points we hear about from merchants. Oversized images sneak onto storefronts, slow pages down, and hurt Core Web Vitals scores. The knock-on effects are real: lower search rankings, higher bounce rates, lost conversions.
Hyvä Commerce 1.2 ships a full Media Optimisation suite that tackles this at the source. Images are automatically converted to modern formats — WebP and AVIF — and resized to smaller (admin configurable) dimensions, before they ever reach the storefront. For stores with large catalogues or frequent content updates, this is less maintenance and better performance, without anyone having to think about it.
Hyvä CMS: the content editor your team will actually use
Hyvä CMS has been growing fast since its initial release, bringing a set of features that close the gap between what content teams expect and what Magento has traditionally offered.
Real-time preview, drafts, version history, and scheduling mean your team can build and review content safely before it goes live — and roll back when something goes wrong.
You can gradually migrate from Pagebuilder or use both if you wish.
The integrated Image Editor lets you crop, resize, and optimise images directly within the admin, without exporting to an external tool. Small thing. Big time-saver.
And this quarter, we shipped one of our most requested features: Translations. Content editors can now translate pages directly in the CMS via manual update, CSV import/export, or, for the first time in a Hyva product, have them applied automatically using AI via our integration with OpenAI, Gemini, and DeepL.
No more duplicating pages, no more copy-pasting into a separate tool, no more back-and-forth with translation agencies for routine updates. For merchants running multi-language storefronts, this changes the day-to-day significantly.

Beta Releases: Menu Builder and CMS Attributes
Production-ready features weren’t the only thing we shipped in Q1. We also announced two new features that are currently in beta.
Menu Builder is a visual interface for managing storefront navigation that allows the inclusion of rich content via Hyvä CMS — no developer required. For merchants who update navigation frequently, or agencies handing off a site to a client team, this is a significant upgrade on the default offering.
Product & Category Attribute support for Hyvä CMS lets you manage product and category attributes directly through our CMS, bringing content and catalogue management closer together in a single interface.
Beta access is available now for all Hyvä Commerce license holders. Or, keep an eye on our roadmap for the general availability releases.
Hyvä Checkout: stability, flexibility, and more
Following the release of our revamped Frontend Payments API last year, which reduced the barrier to entry for integrating PSPs, we've also released a Payments API Backport Module — this is particularly useful for merchants managing stores that can't go through a full version upgrade right now. You get access to the latest payment service provider improvements without disrupting a live store. That's the kind of practical flexibility that makes a real difference on projects with tight timelines or complex dependencies.
Smaller but appreciated: a back-to-cart button for one-page layouts, and pre-population of customer name fields for logged-in users — the kind of friction-reducing details that add up to better conversion rates.
For stores operating across markets, better multi-tab stability is a quiet win that removes a frustrating edge case for shoppers.
Hyvä Checkout has also been updated with full Tailwind v4 support, keeping it aligned with the rest of the Hyvä stack and making theming consistent across the board.
Hyvä Enterprise: B2B 1.5 support, Gift Registry
Hyvä Enterprise, our compatibility offering for Adobe Commerce, saw releases that added support for some of the final remaining features on our roadmap.
For B2B merchants, the update brings significant improvements, adding full compatibility for version 1.5 of Adobe’s B2B suite. Negotiable Quotes see the most updates, including support for Templates, Drafts, and Duplication, which followed the Company Management, updates that shipped last year for managing hierarchies. If you're managing complex B2B sales cycles, these aren't cosmetic changes — they reduce the back-and-forth involved in user and quote management and give buyers and sellers a more structured workflow.
We've added compatibility for Adobe Commerce Gift Registry — relevant for any merchant running seasonal gifting campaigns or in markets where gift registries are a meaningful part of the shopping experience.
Hyvä Enterprise has also been updated with full Tailwind v4 compatibility, keeping Adobe Commerce stores in sync with the broader Hyvä ecosystem.
Along with the main Adobe Commerce and B2B features, all our Adobe Services integrations — Data Connection, Live Search, and Product Recommendations — have been updated to maintain compatibility with the evolving stack.
Hyvä Theme: a thriving open source project
Since we made Hyvä Theme fully open source at Meet Magento Netherlands last year, the community contribution has been exactly what we hoped for. Hyvä Theme continues to evolve fast, and Q1 is no exception.
When the open source release of 1.4.0 shipped last year it brought Tailwind v4 support, the ability to integrate more closely with Figma designs via Design Tokens support and CSS Components. We also added BFCache support for instant back and forth navigation, along with a range of revamped sliders, carousels and modals.
And the improvements have kept coming. Since the start of the year, we’ve also shipped:
- Richer product snippets for better visibility in search results — the kind of structured data improvement that compounds over time in organic rankings.
- Faster image loading on product pages, with a measurable improvement to Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) — the Core Web Vital most closely correlated with conversion.
- Snappier variant selection for configurable products — smoother UX for shoppers browsing options.
- Keyboard shortcut for search (Cmd+K / Ctrl+K) — a small touch, but one that signals the kind of attention to shopper experience that differentiates a well-built store.
- Customisable reCAPTCHA legal notice text — useful for any merchant that needs to meet specific legal or compliance language requirements.
Across the board, there have also been ongoing accessibility and security improvements. For merchants, that means a more reliable storefront. For agencies, it means fewer edge cases to handle.

Hyvä UI: two new components, cleaner Swatches
Two new ready-to-use components have been added to the Hyvä UI library: Card and Loader C. For agencies building on Hyvä, these are the kind of components you'd otherwise build from scratch on every project — having them available out of the box is a direct time saving.
Swatches have been reworked into a single CSS file, removing the need for template overrides. Less complexity on upgrade, simpler theme customisation.
Hyvä UI has also been updated for full Tailwind v4 compatibility, keeping everything in sync with the latest Hyvä Theme.
Recent releases also included accessibility and security fixes, with several contributions coming directly from community developers — a good sign of the ecosystem continuing to mature around Hyvä UI.
Open source AI Providers
The engine powering our AI features, as seen in our CMS Translations, is now open source on GitHub. It's free to use, inspect, and extend. Access is available to anyone with a valid Hyvä Theme licence key, as well as users of Hyvä Commerce, Enterprise, Checkout, and UI.
This also includes access to our initial providers, OpenAI, Gemini, and DeepL, with more to follow in future.
This is in line with our broader philosophy: we want to build on open foundations wherever we can, and give the community the ability to build on top of what we create.

The bottom line
Q1 was about depth: features that make daily work faster for merchants and agencies, better performance for shoppers, and a more maintainable codebase for developers. Not headline-grabbing for its own sake — just execution.
The feedback loop between what the community asks for and what we ship is tighter than it's ever been. If there's something you'd like to see on the roadmap. Let us know!
To everyone building on Hyvä, especially those poviding us invaluable feedback — thank you! The ecosystem is stronger for your contributions.
